Rate: Local: $1,012 / 36 hours

Minimum Requirements

  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license for the state of New Mexico
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, basic assessments.
  • Perform patient assessments (history, physical observations, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications/treatments accurately and per protocol; document administration.
  • Evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor wounds/incisions for infection or complications.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
  • Manage urinary catheters and provide routine care; monitor for complications.
  • Administer and monitor IV medications/fluids where within scope of practice; ensure line integrity.
  • Provide basic patient comfort, mobility assistance, positioning, and pain management.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support as required.
  • Follow infection-control practices and PPE procedures.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies according to policy and regulation.
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and self-care.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care.
  • May supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and report changes to appropriate providers.
  • Participate in required training and stay current on nursing standards.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
