Join a supportive team in Albuquerque, NM for a 7-week contract role starting ASAP. This is a local, non-travel position with a schedule of 6:30 AM–7:00 PM and a rate of $1,012 for a 36-hour period. If you’re a hands-on LPN who values teamwork and quality patient care, we’d love to hear from you.

What we need from you

  • Current, active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license for the state of New Mexico
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

What you’ll be doing
You’ll provide direct nursing care under the direction of RNs and physicians, focusing on safe, patient-centered practice. Typical duties include:

  • Performing patient assessments (physical exams, medical history, medication review) and helping develop individualized care plans
  • Administering medications and treatments accurately and following facility protocols
  • Monitoring and documenting vital signs and any changes in patient condition
  • Providing wound care—cleaning, dressing, and monitoring for infection or complications
  • Managing IV therapy when required (insertion, monitoring, and ensuring proper function)
  • Caring for patients with urinary catheters, including insertion, maintenance, and complication monitoring
  • Collecting specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and documenting treatments and medication administration
  • Educating patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care to promote recovery and wellness
  • Assisting with mobility, positioning, comfort measures, and pain management
  • Responding promptly in emergencies and providing basic life support when needed
  • Following infection control practices, PPE use, and safe handling/disposal of medications and supplies
  • Promoting preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and advocating for patients’ rights and needs
  • Collaborating with the healthcare team—RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff—to coordinate care
  • Supervising CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned
  • Staying up to date on nursing best practices and completing required education and training
  • Performing other duties as assigned by management
