Adelphi is recruiting experienced psychiatric nurse practitioners to provide on-call coverage for an inpatient psychiatric facility in Cherokee County, Iowa. The role requires strong clinical judgment in acute psychiatric settings, the ability to work independently, and effective collaboration with onsite clinical teams.
Position highlights:
- Specialty: Inpatient Psychiatry (on-call)
- Employment type: Contract
- Location: Cherokee County, Iowa
- Coverage: Weeknights (4:30 PM–8:00 AM) and extended weekends (Friday 4:30 PM–Monday 8:00 AM)
- Compensation: TBD (minimum)
Key qualifications:
- Current, unrestricted Iowa NP or PA license
- At least one year of psychiatric training and/or inpatient experience
- Ability to maintain Iowa licensure for the contract duration
- Successful completion of required background screening
Core responsibilities:
- Provide scheduled on-call psychiatric coverage, remaining available by phone and responding within designated timeframes
- Provide on-site urgent care when required within the facility’s response window
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, contribute to treatment planning, and manage medications
- Participate in patient rounds as needed and maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and interdisciplinary staff while adhering to facility policies, confidentiality standards, and regulatory requirements
This role is well suited to clinicians with inpatient psychiatric experience who are comfortable making timely decisions in acute situations and working both independently and as part of a team.
