Nurse Unit Manager (RN) — Contract, Orono ME (14-week)

Rate: Local: $2,360 / 40 hours

Required qualifications:

• Valid, active Registered Nurse state license
• Previous nursing leadership/management experience
• BLS certification

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and direct nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs) to ensure adherence to policies and standards
• Oversee patient care: assessments, medication administration, documentation, and timely updates to care plans
• Participate in staffing and scheduling to ensure adequate coverage and efficient care delivery
• Mentor, educate, and support professional development of nursing staff
• Monitor compliance with regulatory and facility standards; conduct audits and implement quality improvement actions
• Facilitate communication and coordination among interdisciplinary care team members
• Advocate for patients, address concerns, and promote patient-centered care
• Respond to medical emergencies following facility protocols
• Ensure accurate electronic health record documentation
• Stay current on healthcare regulations and ensure staff compliance
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
