Requirements

• BSN from an accredited institution.
• Active, unrestricted RN license in West Virginia.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Minimum 3 years clinical nursing experience (pediatric or school-based preferred).
• Experience with children and adolescents preferred.
• Knowledge of public health principles, growth/development, and wellness practices.
• Ability to pass background check and meet school district clearance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to students: assessment, triage, treatment of illness/injury.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide crisis intervention.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and protocols.
• Maintain accurate, timely student health records and documentation.
• Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans and emergency action plans.
• Coordinate care with physicians, families, and school personnel.
• Conduct health screenings and monitor immunization compliance.
• Support students with chronic conditions and special medical needs.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and provide health-related recommendations.
• Provide health education and promote wellness initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with Medicaid billing, reporting, FERPA, HIPAA, and regulatory standards as applicable.
• Supervise assigned nursing staff, if applicable.
• Participate in professional development and required training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
