Locum Tenens _ Plastic Surgery _ Lansing, MI (Trauma Call)
Location: Lansing, MI _ approximately 90 miles from Detroit
Dates: ASAP to December 2026
Rate: Negotiable (tell us your rate)
Job Details
Coverage type: 24-hour trauma call
Practice setting: Level I Trauma Center
Shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM (24-hour call)
Coverage need: Approximately 19 days per month
Reason for coverage: Limited local hand/plastic surgery trauma coverage
Patient population: Ages 15+ (adolescent through geriatric)
Annual ER volume: ~90,000 visits
Clinic support: Trauma clinic Tuesdays 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Clinical Scope
Traumatic hand injuries and reconstruction
Facial laceration repair
Scar revision procedures
Skin grafts and flap procedures
Minor burn care
Team Structure
1 plastic surgeon providing hand coverage
1 community plastic surgeon
2 orthopedic hand surgeons employed by the hospital
Requirements
Board Certified in Plastic Surgery (within 5 years of training)
Active Michigan medical license (full license required)
BLS and ACLS highly preferred
Self-Query NPDB required at submission
Clean malpractice and background history
Travel
Flight reimbursement
Hotel lodging
Mileage or rental car reimbursement
Orientation paid at half the hourly rate
