Job Description

We are seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterology Physician with subspecialty training in advanced endoscopy to provide locum coverage in Bridgeport, Connecticut. This position focuses on performing advanced procedures, including Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and ERCP, within a hospital-based practice.

Schedule & Call

Hours: 40 hours per week, daytime
On-Call: Yes, with interventions typically scheduled for the next day at the physician’s discretion
Weekend Requirements: As assigned

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive gastroenterology care for hospitalized patients
Perform advanced endoscopy procedures including EUS and ERCP
Collaborate with hospital staff, nursing, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
Document procedures and clinical encounters accurately in the EMR
Participate in call rotation and respond to urgent consults as needed

Required Qualifications

Board Certification in Gastroenterology
Completion of Advanced Endoscopy subspecialty fellowship/training
Active Connecticut medical license or eligibility to obtain
Experience performing EUS, ERCP, and advanced therapeutic endoscopy procedures
Comfortable providing independent, high-acuity inpatient care
