Locums Neurosurgery Physician

We are seeking a Locums Neurosurgery Physician to join a dedicated neurosurgical team in Rapid City, South Dakota. This full-time locums opportunity includes both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, providing an opportunity to work in a collaborative surgical environment managing complex cranial, spine, and trauma cases.

This role offers the chance to work closely with operating room staff, hospital teams, and neurosurgical specialists while delivering high-quality care to a diverse patient population. 

Compensation:  $5000 Per Shift

• Generous (above market) hourly rate
• All travel expenses reimbursed 100%, on top of rate

• Personal locums consultant to manage credentialing and scheduling shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Perform neurosurgical procedures including cranial, spine, and trauma cases
• Provide inpatient rounding, admissions, post-operative care, and discharges
• Conduct outpatient neurosurgery clinic visits and follow-up care
• Respond to emergency department and inpatient neurosurgical consults
• Collaborate with neurosurgeons, OR staff, and multidisciplinary hospital teams
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system

Requirements

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery
• Active South Dakota medical license or ability to obtain
• Strong clinical skills with the ability to work independently and within a team environment
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience in neurosurgery, trauma, or surgical critical care strongly preferred
