Locums Emergency Medicine Physician

We are seeking a Locums Emergency Medicine Physician to provide coverage in a busy emergency department in Cambridge, Ohio. This opportunity is ideal for physicians seeking night and weekend coverage with a consistent schedule. Providers should be available for a minimum of 5 shifts per month with ongoing availability for 12+ months.

The physician will work alongside advanced practice providers and a supportive emergency department team to deliver high-quality emergency care.

 

Schedule

• Physician Shifts:
• 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Coverage Needed: Nights and weekends
• Weekend Requirements: Yes
• On-Call Requirements: None
• Minimum Commitment: 5+ shifts per month with long-term availability

 

Emergency Department Details

• Annual ED Volume: 24,500 – 25,500 visits
• Average Daily Volume: 55–60 patients per 24 hours
• Number of ED Beds: 17

 

Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries
• Perform emergency procedures and stabilize critical patients
• Collaborate with advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and specialists
• Document patient encounters using the MEDITECH EMR system

 

Requirements

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
• Active Ohio medical license
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Medicine experience
• Current certifications:
• ACLS
• ATLS
• BLS
• PALS
• COVID-19 vaccination required
