Locum CRNA — Level I Trauma Center in Charleston, SC (13.5-hr Shifts, Epic, Ongoing)

We’re looking for a CRNA to provide locum tenens coverage in Charleston, SC, starting March 9, 2026, with an initial minimum commitment of three months and the option to extend. Shifts are clinical only and typically run 13.5 hours with a 30-minute unpaid lunch; weekend shifts are possible and schedules may vary by site across the system.

Who you’ll be working with and where

• Practice in an academic Level 1 trauma center (adult patient population) with full surgical and specialty backup.
• Cases reflect a trauma-center case mix; no OB or cardiac blocks.
• Epic is the EMR used throughout the facility. Standard anesthesia and OR equipment and experienced support staff (anesthesiologists, CRNAs, RNs, surgical support) are available.

Clinical responsibilities

• Provide complete anesthesia care within the anesthesia care team model: pre-op evaluation, airway and intraoperative management, monitoring, and post-anesthesia recovery oversight.
• Document care accurately in Epic and collaborate with surgeons and clinical teams to maintain patient safety and quality.
• Remain flexible to rotate among MUSC locations as needed.

Requirements

• Active NBCRNA certification and active DEA; BLS and ACLS current.
• South Carolina CRNA license active or in process.
• Minimum three years of anesthesia experience.
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility per MUSC radius rules.
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required.

Credentialing & logistics

• Hospital privileges are required; temporary privileges TBD.
• Typical credentialing timeline is about 60 days.
