Hybrid Outpatient Psychiatrist — Telepsychiatry with Monthly Onsite in Chico/Oroville, CA (36 hrs/week)

Join a collaborative outpatient behavioral health team serving adults in the Oroville/Chico area. This hybrid contract role combines tele-psychiatry with periodic on-site coverage (one week on-site every month or quarter) to deliver high-quality psychiatric care in a community clinic setting.

• Schedule: 36 hours/week (ideally 8-hour days, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with 1-hour lunch)
• Patient flow: Initial visits 60 minutes; follow-ups 30 minutes; up to 14 follow-ups/day when fully booked; no-show rate ~25%
• Documentation: 1 hour/day built into schedule
• Call: None

Licensure and credentials:

• Active CA medical license
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
• DEA registration
• Valid U.S. driver’s license at application; must obtain California driver’s license after hire per DMV requirements

Core responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, establish diagnoses, and create individualized treatment plans
• Provide medication management and psychotherapy as indicated
• Conduct crisis intervention and administer or prescribe emergency medications when needed
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary team members (NPs, counselors, therapists, case managers) and support patients in day treatment and substance-use programs
• Assess for voluntary/involuntary commitment and complete required legal documentation
• Maintain accurate, compliant medical records (assessments, plans, progress notes)
• Other duties as assigned
