Locum tenens emergency medicine opportunity in Paris, TN beginning March 1, 2026, ongoing. This clinical-only role covers a fully equipped inpatient/outpatient emergency department operating with 24-hour physician coverage. Shifts are assigned per facility scheduling needs and are flexible to support cross-credentialing.

Patients and clinical load

• All ages; general emergency medicine with medium-acuity cases
• Approximately 17,000 ED visits annually
• Admissions required; rounding not included
• Expected duties: evaluation and management of emergency conditions, stabilization and treatment of medium-acuity patients, and coordination with specialty services

Facility and support

• 142-bed department using McKesson/Allscripts EMR
• Support from over 27 specialty services (including women's services and behavioral health)
• NP/PA coverage ~10 hours daily
• Fully equipped ED and on-site inpatient/outpatient services

Credentials and requirements

• Active Tennessee medical license and Tennessee DEA required (must be in hand at presentation)
• Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine (certification preferred)
• ACLS, ATLS, and PALS required if not ABEM certified
• Prior emergency medicine experience preferred
• Hospital privileges required

Compensation and logistics

• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided
• Weekly overtime after 168 hours as per contract terms

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive emergency care in a community hospital setting
• Manage patient flow within the 24-hour coverage model and collaborate with NP/PAs and multidisciplinary teams
• Accurately document encounters in McKesson/Allscripts and adhere to hospital policies and quality standards
