Coverage: Clinical + Call
Coverage Period: 05/18/2026–12/31/2026 — approximately one week per month (Mon–Sun)
Schedule: Typical clinical shift 7:30 AM–5:00 PM; procedures usually Mon–Thu
On-Call: 24-hour call required on select coverage days (typically Fri–Sun)
Start: Coverage begins once credentialed

Patient Population and Volume

• Adults and geriatrics
• Approximately 1,015 inpatient consults during coverage period
• Case mix: inpatient GI consults and endoscopic procedures
• Typical day: morning procedures, afternoon rounding and consults

Facility and Support

• Trauma level III
• EMR: Epic
• Nurse practitioner support available
• Multispecialty hospital backup

Required Procedures

• Upper endoscopy
• Colonoscopy
• Elective and urgent GI procedures

Qualifications

• Active New York medical license
• BC/BE in Gastroenterology
• Gastroenterology fellowship completed
• Active DEA registration
• BLS, ACLS, PALS required
• Experience with Epic preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient gastroenterology consult services
• Perform elective and urgent endoscopic procedures
• Round on hospitalized patients and manage GI consults
• Provide call coverage for urgent/emergent GI cases
• Collaborate with NP and multidisciplinary teams
