Rate: Local: $1,120 / 36 hours

Required credentials

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
  • BLS certification

Core responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, basic assessments.
  • Perform patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) to support individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately, following orders and facility protocols.
  • Manage wounds and incisions: evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor for infection/complications.
  • Monitor and document vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respirations) and changes in condition.
  • Maintain accurate, timely patient records of assessments, treatments, and medication administration.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive measures.
  • Administer and monitor IV medications and fluids, ensure IV line integrity.
  • Provide care for urinary catheters: insertion support, maintenance, and complication monitoring.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing per facility procedures.
  • Assist with patient comfort and safety: positioning, mobility support, and basic pain management.
  • Respond to emergencies using established protocols and basic life support as required.
  • Follow infection control practices, including hand hygiene and PPE use.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies per regulations.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff) to coordinate care.
  • Advocate for patient needs and rights within the care team.
  • May supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
  • Maintain professional competency through ongoing education and training.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
