Location: Albuquerque, NM | Type: Contract (Non-Travel) | Start: ASAP | Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: Wed–Fri, 06:00 AM–06:30 PM | Rate: Local $1,012/36 hrs

Overview:
Seeking a licensed practical nurse for a 13-week contract in Albuquerque. The LPN will provide direct patient care within a collaborative healthcare team, following established protocols and maintaining accurate documentation.

Required:

  • Active LPN license for the state of New Mexico
  • Current BLS certification

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct nursing care under RN/physician guidance, including medication administration, wound care, and vital sign monitoring
  • Conduct patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication reconciliation) and contribute to individualized care plans
  • Administer and monitor medications and treatments, including IV therapy and catheter care, ensuring correct dosing and line function
  • Perform wound management: evaluate, cleanse, dress, and monitor for infection or complications
  • Obtain and document vital signs and other clinical observations; maintain precise, timely patient records
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing as needed
  • Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures
  • Support patient comfort and safety (positioning, mobility assistance, pain management)
  • Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support per protocol
  • Adhere to infection control standards and safe medication/supply handling and disposal
  • Advocate for patient needs and coordinate care with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff
  • May supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when applicable
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and perform other duties as assigned by management

This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and effective teamwork to ensure high-quality patient care.
