Contract (Non-Travel) opportunity in Muscle Shoals, AL — start ASAP for 7 weeks. Schedule: 06:00 AM–06:30 PM. Local rate: $882 per 36 hours.

Required credentials:

  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
  • BLS certification

Overview:
Provide skilled, patient-centered nursing care under RN or physician direction. Deliver treatments and assessments, document accurately, collaborate with the care team, and support patient education and safety.

Key responsibilities:

  • Administer medications and treatments per orders, ensuring correct dosing and adherence to protocols.
  • Perform patient assessments (physical exams, histories, medication reviews) to inform individualized care plans.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, observe for clinical changes, and maintain precise patient records.
  • Provide wound care: evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor for infection or complications.
  • Manage IV therapy (administration, line care, and monitoring) and care for urinary catheters as required.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
  • Support patient comfort, mobility, positioning, and pain management.
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and self-care to promote wellness and adherence.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support according to protocols.
  • Follow strict infection control practices and safe handling, storage, and disposal of medications and supplies.
  • Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and advocate for patients’ rights and needs.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs/UAPs, and support staff to ensure coordinated care; may supervise CNAs/UAPs when applicable.
  • Maintain professional development and comply with current nursing standards and facility policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
