LPN/LVN Licensed Practical Nurse – Long Term Care, Contract – Silver City, NM

We’re looking for a licensed practical nurse to join the team in Silver City, NM on a 13‑week contract starting ASAP. This is a local, non‑travel position with a 36‑hour schedule (06:00 AM–06:30 PM) and a pay rate of $1,138/36 hours.

What you’ll need

• Active, valid LPN state license
• BLS certification

What you’ll be doing
You’ll provide hands‑on nursing care under the direction of RNs and physicians. Typical duties include administering medications and treatments, monitoring vital signs, performing wound care, and completing focused patient assessments to help develop and update individualized care plans. You’ll document changes in condition and treatments accurately, collect samples for lab testing, and educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and self‑care.

Other routine responsibilities include:

• Managing IVs and urinary catheters safely and monitoring for complications
• Maintaining infection control practices and using PPE appropriately
• Assisting with patient positioning, mobility, comfort, and pain management
• Responding to emergencies and providing basic life support when needed
• Safely handling, storing, and disposing of medications and supplies
• Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team—RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff—to coordinate care
• Promoting preventive care such as vaccinations and screenings
• Advocating for patients’ needs and rights
• Supervising CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when applicable
• Staying current with nursing best practices through continuing education
• Performing other duties as assigned by management
