LPN/LVN - Licensed Practical Nurse (14-Week Contract) — Long Term Care, Farmington ME

Join a care team in Farmington, ME as a Licensed Practical Nurse for a 14-week contract starting ASAP. This non-travel, local role runs on a 07:00 AM–07:30 PM schedule and pays $1,033 for a 36-hour period.

What we’re looking for:

• Active, valid LPN license for the state of Maine
• Current BLS certification

What you’ll do day-to-day:

• Provide hands-on nursing care under RN or physician direction — medication administration, wound care, IV and catheter care, and vital-sign monitoring.
• Perform patient assessments (physical exams, medical history, medication reviews) and help develop individualized care plans.
• Safely administer medications and treatments, following dosing protocols and documentation requirements.
• Manage wound care: cleaning, dressing, monitoring for signs of infection or complications.
• Insert and monitor IV lines and urinary catheters, and collect specimens like blood, urine, and sputum for lab testing.
• Keep accurate, timely patient records noting condition changes, treatments given, and medication administration.
• Teach patients and families about diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
• Support patient comfort and safety — positioning, mobility assistance, and pain management.
• Respond to emergencies using established protocols and provide basic life support as needed.
• Follow strict infection control practices, handle and dispose of medications and supplies safely, and promote overall patient advocacy.
• Collaborate closely with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and other staff; may supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when needed.
• Stay current through ongoing training and education.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
