Join a contract, non-travel opportunity in Clovis, NM as a Licensed Practical Nurse. This position starts ASAP for 15 weeks with a consistent local schedule (Sun, Fri, Sat; 06:00 AM–06:30 PM). Compensation: $1,138 per 36-hour pay period.

Minimum requirements

  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse state license
  • BLS certification

Core responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN or physician supervision, including medication administration, wound care, and vital sign monitoring.
  • Conduct patient assessments (physical exams, medical history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and per protocol; monitor for adverse reactions.
  • Manage wounds and incisions: clean, dress, evaluate for infection, and document progress.
  • Monitor and record vital signs and clinical changes; maintain complete and accurate patient records.
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and self-care to support recovery and wellness.
  • Start, manage, and monitor IV therapy and urinary catheter care; recognize and report complications.
  • Collect clinical specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care and ensure patient safety.
  • Address comfort, mobility, and pain management needs; respond to emergencies following protocols and provide BLS as needed.
  • Follow infection control practices, safe medication handling, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Promote preventive care and advocate for patients’ rights and needs.
  • Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when required.
  • Participate in ongoing education to maintain competencies and comply with current nursing standards.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
