We’re looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join a team in Bloomfield, NM on a 16-week contract (non-travel) starting ASAP. This is an evening/night assignment every Friday and Saturday from 5:00 PM to 5:30 AM. Local rate: $828 per 24-hour shift.

What we need from you

  • Active, valid LPN license for your state
  • Current BLS certification

What you’ll be doing
You’ll provide direct nursing care under the direction of RNs and physicians, with hands-on responsibilities that include medication administration, wound care, IV and catheter care, and vital sign monitoring. You’ll perform focused patient assessments (history, physical findings, medication review) and help develop and follow individualized care plans. Accurate documentation of patient condition, treatments, and medications is essential.

Your day-to-day will also include:

  • Administering prescribed meds and treatments with attention to dosing and protocols
  • Managing and dressing wounds, and watching for infection or complications
  • Monitoring and recording vitals (BP, pulse, temp, respirations)
  • Starting, maintaining, and assessing IVs and intravenous therapies
  • Caring for urinary catheters and monitoring for issues
  • Collecting routine lab specimens (blood, urine, sputum)
  • Promoting patient comfort, mobility, positioning, and pain management
  • Educating patients and families about conditions, meds, and self-care
  • Responding to emergencies using established protocols and delivering basic life support as needed
  • Following infection control practices and proper PPE use
  • Handling, storing, and disposing of meds and supplies safely
  • Advocating for patients, supporting preventive care (vaccines, screenings), and collaborating with the care team (RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs/UAPs)
  • Supervising CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when required
  • Participating in ongoing education to stay current with nursing best practices
