Location: Clovis, NM | Start: ASAP | Duration: 13 weeks | Schedule: Sun, Fri, Sat, 6:00 PM–6:30 AM | Type: Contract (Non-Travel) | Pay: Local $1,242/36 hrs

Overview:
Seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct, patient-centered care in Clovis on a 13-week contract. The LPN will work under RN/physician supervision to support assessments, treatments, and documentation while promoting patient safety and comfort.

Requirements:

  • Active, valid LPN state license
  • BLS certification

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care including medication administration, wound care, and vital sign monitoring.
  • Conduct focused patient assessments (physical exams, medical history, medication reconciliation) to inform individualized care plans.
  • Accurately administer medications and treatments per orders and protocols.
  • Manage wounds and incisions—clean, dress, and monitor for infection or complications.
  • Continuously record and monitor vital signs and changes in patient condition.
  • Maintain clear, timely documentation of care, treatments, and patient responses.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and self-care strategies.
  • Administer and monitor IV fluids and medications; ensure proper IV line function.
  • Provide catheter care, including insertion support, maintenance, and complication monitoring.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing as directed.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and support transitions.
  • Assist with patient mobility, positioning, comfort measures, and pain management.
  • Respond to emergencies according to protocols and provide basic life support as needed.
  • Follow infection control practices and PPE guidelines; handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies safely.
  • Promote preventive health measures and support health assessments.
  • Advocate for patient rights and needs within the healthcare team.
  • Supervise CNAs or UAPs when delegated responsibilities are appropriate.
  • Participate in ongoing education to remain current with nursing standards and facility policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication within a collaborative care environment.
