Join a Camden, ME healthcare team as a contract Licensed Practical Nurse. This 17-week, non-travel assignment starts ASAP and requires dependable, patient-focused nursing care across a full shift (06:45 AM–07:15 PM). Compensation: Local: $1,098/36-hours.

Requirements

  • Active, valid LPN state license
  • BLS certification

Core responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN or physician direction, including medication administration, wound care, and vital sign monitoring.
  • Perform patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and in accordance with policies.
  • Manage wounds and dressings; monitor for infection or complications.
  • Monitor, document, and report vital signs and changes in patient condition.
  • Maintain clear, timely patient records of treatments, medications, and clinical observations.
  • Educate patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care to support recovery and wellness.
  • Initiate and monitor IV therapy and care for urinary catheters when indicated.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care.
  • Support patient comfort, mobility, positioning, and basic pain management.
  • Respond promptly in emergencies and provide basic life support per protocol.
  • Follow infection control standards and safe handling, storage, and disposal of medications and supplies.
  • Promote preventive health measures and patient advocacy.
  • Remain current with nursing best practices, regulations, and required training.
  • May supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
