Join an outpatient ophthalmology practice in Houghton, MI, providing locum tenens coverage to supplement ongoing clinical needs. Coverage is needed ASAP and will continue on an ongoing basis.

Schedule and Setting

Clinical only, Mon–Fri, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Rotation: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off (Week 1: surgeries/procedures; Week 2: follow-ups included)
Outpatient clinic with hospital privileges required (Trauma Level II)

Clinical Responsibilities

Perform cataract surgeries (phacoemulsification, extra/intracapsular extraction)
Manage anterior segment, glaucoma, and corneal cases
Provide intravitreal injections
Interpret diagnostic studies including ultrasound, fundus photos, fluorescein angiography, and optical coherence tomography
Average patient volume: ~20 patients/day (about 4 per hour) with 12–14 procedures/day
Operate across 3 exam/procedure rooms with support from 2 medical assistants

Credentials and Requirements

Active Michigan medical license or participation in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)
Board certified (BC)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Hospital privileges required
