Locums Hematology/Oncology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

A healthcare facility in Santa Cruz is seeking a Locums Hematology/Oncology Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide full-time outpatient coverage. This opportunity offers the chance to work in a collaborative oncology program focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centered cancer care.

 

Compensation:  $160 Per Hour

 

Position Details

• Practice Setting: Ambulatory Oncology Clinic
• Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday
• Shift Time: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Patient Volume: Approximately 16–18 patients per day
• Infusion Services: Access to an on-site infusion center for chemotherapy and treatment services

 

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive hematology and oncology patient care in an outpatient setting
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients undergoing cancer treatment and follow-up care
• Collaborate with oncologists, nurses, navigators, and social workers to coordinate patient treatment plans
• Monitor treatment response and manage side effects related to oncology therapies
• Utilize the infusion center for chemotherapy and other treatment modalities
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record

 

Requirements

• Licensed Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (NP)
• Completion of an accredited postgraduate training program
• Active California medical license
• Active BLS certification
• Active DEA registration
• Oncology or hematology/oncology experience preferred
