Inpatient Psychiatrist — Adult/Dual-Diagnosis (Kerrville, TX)

Adelphi seeks an experienced inpatient psychiatrist to provide comprehensive psychiatric care to adults with dual diagnoses in a residential setting in Kerr County, Texas. The physician will perform evaluations, develop and implement treatment plans, respond to psychiatric emergencies, and ensure care is delivered in compliance with state and facility regulations.

Position details

• Profession/Specialty: Physician — Psychiatry
• Employment type: Contract, full-time (minimum 3 months; option to extend)
• Location: Kerr County, Texas (inpatient / residential)
• Coverage model: Hybrid preferred — 3 weeks telehealth / 1 week onsite
• Schedule: 40 hours/week; options: Mon–Fri (8-hr shifts) or 4-day week (10-hr shifts; Mon–Thu or Tue–Fri)
• On-call: Not required
• Start: Immediate, pending completion of credentialing and clearances

Required qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Texas Medical License (Texas Medical Board) with no sanctions
• Active DEA registration
• Credentialing with hospitals used by the facility prior to start
• Current CPR certification (AHA-approved)
• Ability to complete and maintain all credentialing and clearance requirements and keep certifications current throughout the assignment

Key responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and ongoing monitoring
• Develop and manage individualized treatment plans for adults with dual diagnoses in a residential (inpatient) setting
• Provide emergency psychiatric care, including response to crises and management of restraints when necessary
• Adhere to agency and facility policies, regulatory guidelines, and attendance/leave policies
• Perform duties consistent with those expected of permanent physicians and complete additional assignments as required
