Overview
Join a team in Hot Springs, Arkansas as a locum tenens emergency medicine physician providing clinical-only coverage beginning March 31, 2026 and continuing ongoing. Shifts are flexible and schedule details will be determined to meet staffing needs. This role covers both inpatient and outpatient emergency care at a Level 2 trauma center to support supplemental coverage.

Who you’ll see
You’ll care for a full age range—neonates through geriatrics—managing a mixed-acuity emergency medicine caseload. Admissions are part of the role; routine rounding is not required.

Facility and support
You’ll work with an ED clinical support staff at a Level 2 trauma center. Hospital privileges are required prior to starting.

Required procedures and scope
Be prepared to perform common emergency procedures including endotracheal intubation, central venous line placement, and chest tube placement, and manage other procedures typical for emergency medicine practice.

Licensing, certifications, and experience

• Active Arkansas medical license required
• Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine (BC preferred)
• Active DEA registration
• BLS and ACLS required
• Emergency Department clinical experience preferred; prior experience at an academic medical center is a plus

Compensation & logistics
Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance will be covered.

Core responsibilities

• Provide timely emergency care to patients presenting to the ED
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and traumatic injuries across all ages
• Perform necessary emergency procedures within your scope of practice
• Coordinate care with consultants and hospital teams
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the facility EMR
