Travel RN – Cardiac Surgery (Corvallis, OR)

Join a busy cardiac surgery team in Corvallis, OR: we’re looking for a skilled RN to step into a contract/travel role and help care for patients before, during recovery, and after cardiac procedures. (Ref #: M-RN-294668)

What we’re looking for

• Active RN license (Oregon or compact as required).
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• BLS required; ACLS preferred.
• Previous experience in cardiac surgery, cardiac ICU, or advanced cardiac care is preferred.
• Strong critical thinking, cardiac assessment, and hemodynamic monitoring skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Day-to-day responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac surgery, including pre- and post-operative assessments.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, surgical sites, and overall patient status.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and ordered treatments safely and accurately.
• Manage chest tubes, drains, wound care, and other post-op devices.
• Collaborate closely with cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care.
• Educate patients and families about recovery, discharge planning, and post-surgical expectations.
• Document interventions, patient responses, and clinical progress in the EMR.
