We’re seeking a locum tenens provider to join an outpatient practice in Lake City, FL, to provide supplemental clinical coverage on an ongoing basis. Positions are part-time/per-diem with flexible half- or full-day shifts; weekend availability is a plus.
Schedule and coverage
- Start: ASAP — ongoing coverage
- Shift options: 2 days per week; per diem availability
- Half day: 4 hours
- Full day: 4–8 hours
- Ability to work weekends if desired/needed
Clinical duties
- Conduct one-time Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and separation health assessments (no treatment or prescribing).
- Exams are primarily interview-based with some focused physical assessments (range-of-motion testing, muscle strength testing). Use of a goniometer is required.
- Familiarity with musculoskeletal conditions, diabetes, and cardiovascular issues is expected.
- Complete evaluations and documentation in the VES provider portal; most cases will require record review.
- Training will be provided for all Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs).
Who we’ll consider
- Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or any clinician with general medicine or compensation & pension experience.
Requirements
- Active Florida medical license
- Board certified
- Own a laptop (Windows only — no Macs/Apple) and have a personal office space
- DMA certification or willingness to obtain it
- Reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Current self-query NPDB (pulled within the past month)
- ECFMG certificate, if applicable (for internationally trained graduates)
- Proficient in METs testing and in evaluating/diagnosing respiratory and cardiovascular conditions
- Malpractice insurance provided by the facility
