Join a team in Lake City, FL as a locum provider supporting outpatient general medicine. This is a supplemental, clinical-only role with coverage starting ASAP and continuing on an ongoing basis. You’ll work a flexible schedule—two days per week with options for per diem half days (4 hours) or full days (4–8 hours); weekend availability is welcome if you want it.
What you’ll do
- Conduct one-time C&P (Compensation & Pension) exams and separation health assessments.
- Most exams are interview-focused, with some targeted physical assessments (e.g., range of motion and muscle strength testing).
- No treatment or prescribing is required.
- Expected familiarity with musculoskeletal conditions, diabetes, and cardiovascular issues. Use of a goniometer is required.
- Complete evaluations in VES’ provider portal; record review is required in most cases.
- Training will be provided for completing Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs).
Who we’re looking for
- Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or any clinician with general medicine OR compensation & pension experience.
- Active Florida medical license and board certification.
- Within 50 miles of the facility.
- Own laptop (Windows only — no Macs/Apple) and a private office.
- DMA certification or willingness to obtain it.
- If educated outside the U.S., provide a copy of your ECFMG certificate.
- Proficiency in METs testing and in evaluating/diagnosing respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
