Requirements

• Active RN license in state of practice
• BLS required; ACLS preferred or may be required by facility
• Prior experience preferred in endoscopy, GI lab, PACU, or procedural nursing
• Competent in patient assessment, IV therapy, and monitoring sedation
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Core Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for endoscopic and special procedures: obtain assessments, review history, and provide pre-procedure education
• Assist physicians during procedures (EGD, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, ERCP, and other interventions)
• Monitor and document vital signs, sedation level, and patient safety throughout procedures
• Administer medications and moderate sedation per facility protocol
• Provide post-procedure recovery care and discharge instructions
• Maintain and prepare equipment, follow infection control practices, and uphold safety standards
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses
