LPN/LVN - Contract Long-Term Care Nurse (Tuscumbia, AL)

Contract LPN position in Tuscumbia, AL. Start ASAP for a 7‑week assignment. Day shift: 06:00–18:00. Local rate: $882 per 36 hours.

Requirements:

• Current, active LPN license for the state of Alabama
• BLS certification

Overview of responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction, including medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, and routine assessments.
• Perform focused patient assessments (history, physical checks, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
• Monitor and accurately document vital signs, treatments, changes in condition, and administered medications.
• Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) and prepare patients for testing as required.
• Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection control protocols, PPE use, and safe medication/storage/disposal procedures.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
• Assist with mobility, positioning, pain management, and patient comfort; respond to emergencies and provide basic life support as needed.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff) to ensure continuity of care.
• May supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when applicable.
• Maintain professional development and comply with facility policies and regulatory standards.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
