Rate: Travel $1,860/40 hrs; Local $1,556/40 hrs

Overview
Provide skilled, patient-centered nursing care under RN or physician direction in a fast-paced clinical setting. This contract role requires strong assessment skills, accurate documentation, and effective collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care, including medication administration, wound care, and vital sign monitoring.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments (physical exams, histories, medication reviews) and contribute to individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments safely and according to protocol; monitor for therapeutic effects and adverse reactions.
- Assess, clean, dress, and manage wounds; monitor for signs of infection or complications.
- Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition accurately and timely.
- Maintain precise patient records of treatments, medications, and clinical observations.
- Provide education and support to patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care.
- Initiate and monitor IV therapy and fluids, ensuring proper line insertion and function when within scope of practice.
- Manage urinary catheters, including routine care and complication monitoring.
- Collect and prepare clinical specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
- Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care and communicate patient needs.
- Support patient comfort, mobility, and pain management; assist with positioning and basic ADLs as needed.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, following established protocols and providing basic life support.
- Follow infection control policies and use PPE appropriately to minimize transmission risk.
- Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies in compliance with regulations.
- Promote preventive care and wellness through screenings and education.
- Advocate for patient rights and needs within the care team.
- Supervise CNAs or UAPs when assigned and participate in ongoing professional development.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
