Location: Las Cruces, NM | Type: Contract (Non-Travel) | Duration: 9 weeks | Start: ASAP
Schedule: Night shift, 06:00 PM–06:30 AM | Rate: Local $1,152/36 hours

Position overview:
Provide skilled, patient-centered nursing care under the direction of RNs and physicians in a clinical setting. Deliver assessments, treatments, and documentation while promoting safety, infection control, and patient education.

Minimum requirements:

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
  • BLS certification

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct focused patient assessments (vital signs, physical exam, medical history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely and according to protocols; monitor for effects and document appropriately.
  • Perform wound care, dressing changes, and monitor for signs of infection or complications.
  • Manage and monitor IV therapies and urinary catheters per facility policy.
  • Collect and prepare clinical specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab analysis.
  • Maintain accurate, timely patient documentation of condition changes, interventions, and medication administration.
  • Support patient comfort, mobility, positioning, and basic pain management.
  • Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive measures.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support as needed.
  • Follow strict infection control practices and proper handling, storage, and disposal of medications and supplies.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff) to coordinate care.
  • Advocate for patients’ rights and needs; supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when applicable.
  • Participate in ongoing education to stay current with nursing best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
