Location: Albuquerque, NM | Type: Contract (Non‑Travel) | Start: ASAP | Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: Mon–Wed, 6:00 AM–6:30 PM | Rate: Local $1,012/36 hours

Overview:
Seeking a licensed practical nurse to provide direct patient care in Albuquerque on a 13‑week contract. The ideal candidate will deliver safe, evidence‑based nursing services, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, and support patient education and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Active LPN state license
  • BLS certification

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction, including medication administration, wound care, and vital sign monitoring.
  • Conduct patient assessments (physical exams, histories, medication reviews) to inform individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and according to protocol.
  • Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds and surgical sites for signs of infection or complications.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition thoroughly and timely.
  • Maintain accurate patient records of assessments, treatments, and medication administration.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self‑care, and preventive health.
  • Initiate and monitor IV therapy and manage IV lines when within scope of practice.
  • Provide catheter care, including insertion and maintenance as appropriate.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to ensure coordinated care.
  • Address patient comfort and safety needs (positioning, mobility assistance, pain management).
  • Respond to emergencies following facility protocols and provide basic life support as needed.
  • Follow infection control standards and proper use of PPE.
  • Safely handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies per policy.
  • Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and advocate for patient rights and needs.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and may supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
  • Perform other duties as directed by management.

This position requires clinical competence, clear communication, attention to detail, and commitment to patient‑centered care.
