Requirements:

• Current, active LPN license for the state of New Mexico
• BLS certification

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction (medication administration, wound care, vital signs).
• Perform focused patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately, following protocols and documentation requirements.
• Evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor wounds and surgical sites for infection/complications.
• Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition.
• Maintain accurate patient records of treatments, medications, and clinical observations.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive measures.
• Initiate and monitor IV therapy and report issues with IV access or infusions.
• Provide catheter care, including insertion assistance, maintenance, and monitoring for complications.
• Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing per procedure.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
• Assist with patient safety, positioning, mobility, and pain management.
• Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support per facility protocol.
• Follow infection control practices and proper use of PPE.
• Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies according to regulations.
• Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when delegated.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
