Rate: Local — $1,120 / 36 hours

Requirements

  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
  • BLS certification

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, and basic assessments.
  • Perform patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately, following protocols and documenting administration.
  • Manage wounds/incisions: assess, clean, dress, monitor for infection and complications.
  • Monitor and record vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respirations) and report changes in condition.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records of assessments, treatments, and medication administration.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, discharge instructions, and self-care.
  • Administer and monitor IV medications/fluids; ensure proper IV line function and site care (as within scope of practice).
  • Care for urinary catheters: insertion (if in scope), routine maintenance, and monitoring for complications.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care.
  • Assist with patient mobility, positioning, comfort measures, and pain management.
  • Respond to emergencies following facility protocols and provide basic life support as needed.
  • Follow infection control practices and PPE requirements; handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies safely.
  • Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and support health maintenance activities.
  • Advocate for patient rights and needs within the care team.
  • Supervise CNAs/unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Compliance: Adhere to facility policies, state nursing regulations, and scope-of-practice guidelines.
