Join a team in Las Cruces, NM as a Licensed Practical Nurse on a 10-week contract (non-travel). This role starts ASAP and follows a daytime schedule (06:00 AM–06:30 PM). Compensation is local pay: $1,051 per 36 hours.

What we’re looking for

  • Active, valid LPN license for the state
  • Current BLS certification

What you’ll do
You’ll provide hands-on nursing care under the direction of RNs and physicians. Day-to-day duties include medication administration, wound care, monitoring vitals, and performing patient assessments to help create individualized care plans. You’ll document changes in patient condition, educate patients and families on diagnoses and self-care, and support comfort and mobility needs.

Specific tasks include:

  • Administering medications and treatments with attention to dosing and protocols
  • Assessing patients (physical exams, medical history, medication reviews) and contributing to care planning
  • Managing and dressing wounds; watching for signs of infection or complications
  • Monitoring and recording vitals (BP, pulse, temperature, respirations)
  • Starting, monitoring, and maintaining IVs and IV medications when required
  • Caring for urinary catheters (insertion, maintenance, monitoring)
  • Collecting specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing
  • Following infection control practices and using PPE appropriately
  • Handling, storing, and disposing of meds and supplies safely
  • Responding to emergencies and providing basic life support as needed
  • Promoting preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and advocating for patient needs
  • Communicating and coordinating with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff
  • Potentially supervising CNAs or other assistive personnel when assigned
  • Other duties as assigned by management
