Summary:
Provide nursing care to students in a school setting under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or school health administrator, following established standards and physician orders.

Required Qualifications:

• Active Texas Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years recent pediatric nursing experience
• Experience supporting students with complex medical needs
• Ability to travel between campuses if assigned multiple students
• Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care and one-on-one support for medically fragile students as assigned
• Perform specialized procedures as indicated: tracheostomy care, suctioning, nebulizer treatments, catheterization, vagal nerve stimulator management, and emergency airway management
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and school policy
• Monitor and document student health status, maintain accurate health records and service logs
• Check and maintain oxygen cylinders daily when used or stored at the school
• Recognize and respond to medical emergencies; notify supervising RN and initiate appropriate interventions
• Support campus clinic operations and daily student health needs
• Collaborate with teachers, school nurses, and staff to support student care plans
• Participate in required trainings, meetings, and school health programs
• Perform other duties as assigned
