Requirements:
- Active Texas Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) License
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Recent pediatric nursing experience (minimum of two (2) years)
- Experience supporting students with complex medical needs
- Ability to travel between campuses if assigned to multiple students
- Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skill
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to students under the supervision of a Registered Nurse when required
- Assist with one-on-one care for medically fragile students
- Perform procedures such as tracheostomy care, nebulizer treatments, suctioning, catherization, vagal nerve stimulator, and emergency airway management when needed
- Support campus clinic operations and student health needs
- Assist with special procedures and treatments during the school day
- Monitor student health status and report changes to supervising nurse
- Maintain and check oxygen cylinder daily, if used or stored in the school, for specified students
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
- Assist in recognizing medical emergencies and initiating appropriate response
- Maintain accurate student health documentation and service logs
- Collaborate with teachers, school nurses, and school staff to support student health
- Participate in school health programs, trainings, and meetings
- Any other duties as assigned
