Overview

• Locum tenens outpatient pediatric coverage in California (San Jose and Lancaster). Clinical-only coverage, M–F daytime.

Locations & Start Dates

• San Jose, CA — Indian Health Center of Santa Clara Valley. Start: Mar 30, 2026. Schedule: M–F, 8:00 a–5:00 p.
• Lancaster, CA — Bartz-Altadonna Community Health Center. Start: Apr 6, 2026. Schedule: M–F, typically 8:00 a–4:00 p (flexible 7:00 a–3:00 p or 9:00 a–5:00 p).

Schedule & Shift Length

• M–F daytime; shifts vary by location (approx. 8–9 hour shifts). Clinical only.

Patient Population & Volume

• Infants and pediatric patients.
• ~23–25 patients per day.
• Bread-and-butter outpatient pediatrics: newborn visits, well-child exams, sick visits.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Routine pediatric and newborn/infant wellness exams.
• Diagnose and treat common pediatric illnesses.
• Preventive care and patient counseling.
• Coordinate care with clinic staff; maintain timely documentation in Epic.

Facility & Support

• EMR: Epic.
• Standard outpatient pediatric equipment available.
• Support staff: Medical Assistants and LVNs; providers typically assigned an MA with LVN support as needed.

Credentialing & Compliance

• Credentialing timeline: ~30–45 days.
• Coverage reason: supplemental.

Compensation & Logistics

• All-inclusive rate structure. Some assignments include ~ $1,000/month stipend for travel and lodging.
• Some orientations billed at 50% of hourly rate.
• Malpractice insurance provided per assignment terms.

Required Qualifications

• Active CA medical license.
• Board Certified in Pediatrics (new graduates considered if board certified; preference for 2+ years’ experience).
• Active DEA certificate.
• BLS certification.
• Spanish-speaking ability preferred at some sites.
