- Degree from an accredited nursing program; Bachelor of Nursing preferred.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan required.
- Valid CPR certification required.
- Minimum one year of nursing experience required; three years preferred.
- Must reside within a 45-minute commute of the district to ensure timely on-site coverage.
- In-person services required; remote services will not be accepted. Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to students based on individual health needs and established care plans.
- Administer daily and PRN medications and nursing procedures as prescribed by a physician.
- Assess student health conditions and provide first aid and emergency care when needed.
- Notify parents or guardians when further medical evaluation or care is recommended.
- Maintain accurate and timely health documentation and records.
- Serve as a liaison between school staff, families, physicians, and community health providers.
- Educate school staff on health procedures and student medical needs.
- Initiate and coordinate emergency response procedures for students or staff as necessary.
- Provide health education and anticipatory guidance to support student wellness.
- Maintain clinic equipment and ensure necessary medical supplies are available.
- Assist with Medicaid billing documentation related to nursing services when applicable.
- Participate in professional development and district meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the role.
