Travel RN – Cardiac/Vascular Unit (CVU) – Chico, CA – Days (7a) – Contract/Travel

We’re looking for an experienced CVU nurse to join a team in Chico, CA — contract/travel, start ASAP. This is a day shift position (start 7:00 AM) with a 36-hour schedule and a pay rate of $2,686 per 36 hours.

What you’ll bring

• Active RN license in the state of California.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Prior experience in CVU, telemetry, ICU, or another critical care setting is preferred.
• Strong patient assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
• Solid knowledge of cardiovascular monitoring, cardiac rhythms, and common cardiac procedures.

What you’ll do

• Deliver hands-on nursing care to cardiovascular unit patients, including pre- and post-procedure monitoring.
• Continuously monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, and patient responses to interventions.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and prescribed treatments safely and accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the multidisciplinary team to develop and carry out patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions, procedures, and discharge instructions in clear, compassionate terms.
• Accurately document all care and communications in the electronic health record in a timely manner.
• Recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition and emergencies.
• Follow unit policies, protocols, and safety standards at all times.
• Participate in quality improvement projects and ongoing professional development.
