Join a rural medical oncology practice in Redding, CA to provide outpatient locum tenens coverage as the solo hematology/oncology provider. This clinical-only assignment runs ASAP through August 31, 2026, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Coverage schedule (daily clinic, dates to be filled):
- Mar 4–31, Apr 1–30, May 1–31, Jun 1–30, Jul 1–31, Aug 1–31
Clinical scope and patient volume:
- 15–20 patients per day; 15–20 admissions (coordinate with hospitalists)
- Full oncology/hematology case mix (all tumor types)
- Onsite physician oversight of the clinic and Infusion Center; remain in Infusion Center during treatments
Key responsibilities:
- Diagnose, stage, and manage hematologic and oncologic conditions
- Develop precision medicine–based treatment plans
- Manage symptoms and side effects of therapy
- Supervise chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration
- Oversee blood and platelet transfusions, hormone therapy, antibiotic therapy, therapeutic phlebotomies, and rheumatoid arthritis injections
- Coordinate care with ER physicians and hospitalists
Support and systems:
- Support staff: 1 clinic RN, 2 medical assistants, 2 front-office clerks, 1 quality analyst/billing specialist, 10 infusion RNs
- EMR: iKnowMed and Cerner
- Locum will function as the lone on-site oncology provider
Logistics and privileges:
- Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges available
- Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided
Requirements:
- Active CA medical license
- BC/BE in Hematology or Oncology
- DEA registration
- Current ACLS and PALS
- Self-query NPDB report
