Coverage: Clinical + Call
Schedule
- Clinical: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- Call: Rotating (approximately 1 week every 4–5 weeks)
- Weekdays: 4:30 PM–8:00 AM
- Weekends/Holidays: 24-hour coverage
- Call type: Phone/pager; response 15 minutes by phone, 60 minutes onsite
- Call ratio: ~1:4–5
- Callback rate: ~3%
Scope of practice / case mix
- Adult inpatient population
- Rounding and phone consults included
- Procedures: arterial (diagnostic and interventions: PTA, stent, thrombolysis, embolization, TACE); venous (TIPS, stenting, thrombectomy, filter placement); venous access (tunneled/non-tunneled catheters, ports); dialysis access (angioplasty, stent, thrombolysis); hepatobiliary (biliary drainage, cholecystostomy, stenting); thoracic (chest tube, pleurodesis); image-guided interventions (biopsy, drainage, tumor ablation—RFA, cryo, microwave); musculoskeletal procedures (lumbar puncture, joint injections, moderate sedation).

- EMR: CPRS
- Imaging equipment: Siemens Artis Pheno; Philips Allura Xper SD
- Support staff: 3 nurses, 5 radiology technologists, 1 Interventional Radiologist (Service Chief)
- Reason for coverage: Supplemental
- Temporary hospital privileges available
Credentials & requirements
- Active unrestricted U.S. medical license required (temporary privileges available)
- Board certified in Interventional Radiology (ABR)
- DEA registration required
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS
- Fellowship-trained in Interventional Radiology
- NPI required
- No history of license restrictions or disciplinary actions

- Perform the full range of interventional radiology procedures listed above
- Provide inpatient consults and procedural care
- Participate in call rotation and respond to emergent cases per response expectations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Complete timely documentation and comply with facility protocols
