Night RN House Supervisor — Arcata, CA | $2,182/36-hr Contract, Leadership & Acute Care Experience

Experienced Registered Nurse needed in Arcata, CA for a night House Supervisor role (contract/travel). Start ASAP. Schedule: Nights, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM. Pay: $2,182 per 36-hour period.

Requirements:

• Active RN license in the state of practice.
• 2–3+ years acute care nursing experience; supervisory or charge nurse experience strongly preferred.
• BLS and ACLS required; facility may require additional certifications.
• Demonstrated clinical assessment, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to make rapid decisions, manage crises, and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Experience with patient flow management and hospital operations preferred.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and clinical oversight for nursing staff across units during the shift.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges to optimize bed management and staffing.
• Act as administrator-on-duty for operational issues, staff concerns, and patient/family needs.
• Respond to emergencies, rapid responses, and critical events, providing direction and support.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and safety protocols.
• Assess staffing needs and reassign personnel to maintain safe patient ratios.
• Support clinical teams with problem-solving, conflict resolution, and escalations.
• Document incidents, staffing decisions, and operational concerns; communicate with leadership.
• Foster a positive, collaborative, and efficient work environment for staff and patients.
