Contract/Travel Licensed Practical Nurse needed in St. Albans, VT. Start ASAP for a 14-week assignment, nights 11:00 PM–7:30 AM. Compensation: Travel rate $1,466/32 hours; Local rate $1,094/32 hours.
Requirements:
- Active, valid LPN license for the state
- BLS certification
Overview of responsibilities:
Provide direct bedside nursing under RN or physician direction, including medication administration, wound care, IV initiation and management, catheter care, specimen collection, and vital sign monitoring. Conduct focused patient assessments (history, physical, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans. Monitor and document changes in patient condition, treatments, and responses; maintain accurate medical records. Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, self-care, and preventive measures. Promote safety and comfort through positioning, mobility assistance, pain management, and adherence to infection-control protocols (hand hygiene, PPE). Respond to emergencies per protocol and deliver basic life support when required. Safely handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies. Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care, and when appropriate, supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel. Remain current with nursing best practices and complete required training. Other duties as assigned.
