Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Long Term Care | 9-Week Contract, Fredericksburg VA

We’re seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join a team in Fredericksburg, VA on a 9-week, contract (non-travel) assignment starting ASAP. This role follows a 12-hour day shift schedule (07:00 AM–07:00 PM). Pay is Local: $1,026/36-hours.

What we need from you:

• Active, valid LPN license for the state of Virginia
• Current BLS certification

What you’ll be doing:
You’ll deliver hands-on nursing care under the direction of RNs and physicians. That includes medication administration, wound care, IV management, catheter care, vital signs, and ongoing patient assessments to support individualized care plans. You’ll document findings and treatments accurately, collect samples for lab testing, and respond to emergencies using established protocols and basic life support when needed.

You’ll also:

• Monitor wounds and surgical sites for complications and provide dressing changes
• Administer and monitor IV fluids and medications, ensuring lines are functioning properly
• Assist with patient positioning, mobility, comfort, and pain management
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and self-care to support recovery and prevention
• Follow strict infection control practices and properly handle, store, and dispose of supplies and medications
• Advocate for patients’ needs and coordinate care with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs/UAPs, and other staff
• Occasionally supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned
• Stay current through ongoing education and take on additional duties as assigned by management
