- Weekends: 24-hour coverage (Fri 4:30 PM–Mon 8:00 AM)
- Includes Saturday & Sunday inpatient rounding
Patient Volume & Demographics
- Outpatient: ~15 patients/day
- Inpatient call/rounding: ~20 patients
- Patient population: Adult and geriatric
- Case mix: 65% benign hematology, 35% malignant oncology
Clinical Responsibilities
- Management of bone marrow transplant patients
- Blood bank management
- Order labs and imaging
- Prescribing medications
- Administration of chemotherapy by oncology nurse practitioner
- IP rounding (onsite) and first-call triage
Practice Structure
- Physicians: 8
- Mid-levels (NP/PAs): 4
Required Credentials
- Active SC license or willingness to obtain
- Board Certified (BC)
- DEA registration
- BLS
- NPDB report within the last 30 days (must be obtained)
