Join a busy orthopedic surgery team in Eureka, CA, providing inpatient and outpatient care on a locum tenens basis. This role supports a Level III trauma practice (adult-focused with limited pediatrics) and covers clinical duties plus beeper call.
Schedule and Coverage
- Dates: Begins Jun 18, 2026 – ongoing
- Shift mix: Clinic Mon–Thu 8:00–17:00; Fri OR/admin 7:30–15:00 (or until 17:00)
- Call: 5–7 shifts/month (nights 17:00–08:00; 24-hour weekends)
- Call type/response: Beeper; 20–30 minute response expectation
Practice Environment
- Setting: 75% outpatient / 25% inpatient
- Trauma level: III; trauma comprises ~80% of caseload
- Patient mix: ~90% adults, ~10% pediatrics
- Daily volume: 20–22 patients
- Physicians on staff: 6; APPs: 6
- Support team: 8 MAs, 2 X‑ray techs, 1 cast tech, 4 front desk, 2 surgery schedulers, supervisor, manager
- Facilities: 15 exam rooms
- EMR: Epic; imaging system: Synapse
- Hospital privileges required
Clinical Duties and Procedures
- Provide surgical perioperative care, manage trauma patients, perform suturing and routine orthopedic procedures as indicated
- Coordinate care with surgeons, OR staff, and ancillary services
Credentialing and Benefits
