Overview
Join a hospitalist team in Potsdam, NY on a locum tenens basis providing clinical inpatient and outpatient care. Coverage begins 05/25/2026 and is ongoing, with an initial 28-week commitment. You’ll primarily work night shifts (5:00 PM–5:00 AM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM), roughly one week per month starting May 2026.

Who you’ll care for
You’ll be treating adult patients across a broad spectrum of acute medical conditions. Expect typical hospitalist duties: admissions, daily rounding, phone consults, and coordination of care. Average census is about 10–15 patients per provider.

The facility and team
You’ll work in a 109-bed department using Epic and standard hospital equipment, including Pyxis automated medication dispensing. Specialty backup is available as needed, and on-site support includes one provider, one NP, and one LPN. This role is to provide supplemental coverage.

Privileges, compliance, and logistics
Hospital privileges are required. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered per facility policy.

Required qualifications

• Active NY license
• Board certified
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum two years of recent hospitalist experience
• Epic experience and strong communication skills

Primary responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient medical management for acutely ill adults
• Perform admissions, evaluations, diagnostic workups, and follow-up care
• Order and interpret labs, imaging, and other diagnostics
• Develop treatment plans and coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams and with primary care providers
